Why wouldn’t they? Companies pay them large sums of money for their knowledge. Besides, why would they teach someone who will compete with them, and do it for FREE?!
After getting a lot of negative answers, we realized we needed to find a better deal for everyone, by offering a fair compensation for both mentors and mentorees.

You may have a masters or even a PhD in data science, but nothing comes close to real experience.
Downloading a dataset from somewhere, building a model and calling yourself a data scientist, compares to playing Super Mario and calling yourself a plumber.
In real-life projects, you have to interact with people, manage expectations and above all, deliver results, not models. Your reward then is not a number on a spreadsheet, it’s knowing you improved someone’s life through the systems you built.
The Process
Apply - Start by applying. Send us your CV and whatever you feel is relevant for your application.
Technical Test - There are basic requirements for a mentorship to work.
Matching - We’ll publish your profile to our network of mentors. If anyone is interested we’ll send you a description of the project
Interview with the mentors - This needs to work both ways. The mentor must be happy to work with you, but you must also be happy to work with them!
Introductory course - Passing this online course is required to work with our mentors.
Work with data - Finally, you’ll get your hands dirty with data!
Review and presentation - There’s a continuous process of review and evaluation. By the end of the mentorship you’re asked to do a small, five minute presentation about the work you’ve done.
Profit!!!! - Most people who went by our mentorship program either end up working with their mentor or quickly find paid positions through their recommendation.
